Madison 501 a premier private label jewelry manufacturer.
Since the inception of Madison 501, we have been a private label jewelry manufacturer. Madison 501 is based in New York and was founded by Karen Taub, a veteran of the jewelry industry. Karen is a passionate advocate for all of her clients. She helps them navigate the industry successfully as they develop and expand their collections, and grow their businesses.
Karen comes by this knowledge firsthand, having spent years running Walter Edbril Inc., her family’s independent private label jewelry manufacturing business. She sold Walter Edbril Inc. to Louis Tamis & Sons in 1993, assuming business-development responsibilities there. In what was a natural evolution, Karen eventually decided to focus on her passion—namely, working with designers—and she established Madison 501 as a separate entity in January 2016. However, Madison 501 clients continue to benefit from the same resources and expert jewelers with whom she has collaborated for more than 20 years.
Beyond her impressive credentials in the jewelry industry, Karen has a long track record in business development—acquiring small consumer-product enterprises, launching successful start-ups, and expanding established companies. Her expertise includes business-plan development, sales and marketing, social networking, merchandising, domestic and international product development, and budget management.
Karen also founded A Cure In Our Lifetime, in memory of her friend Dana who passed away from breast cancer at the age of 38. Since its establishment in 1996, the nonprofit organization has expanded to three cities, raised millions of dollars, and funded a dedicated researcher at New York’s Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Most importantly, A Cure has helped to support women of all ages in their battle against the disease.
A graduate of Boston University, Karen earned her MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business.
